Adwita- Redefining the Ramp

In January 2010, Banjaras held a unique fashion event- ‘ADWITA’ Redefining the Ramp
(Adwita is Sanskrit for Uniqueness)
It displayed pure handcrafted fabric, on the ramp, showcased by working professionals. The models were none other than regular patrons who frequent the store and are avid natural fabric lovers. The ensembles were categorized in four different sequences-
‘The Indian Memsahib’ showcased the most stunning 6 yards draped in various ways to adapt to different occasions, making it an exciting affair to wear a saree than compain about it!

‘Pardesi Desi’ - An indo-western round to suit the evolving taste of the urban Indian woman in all its grandeur, displayed an eclectic blend of east meets west combining the Desi woman’s need for style and comfort.

Karigari’- This sequence potrayed the traditional and coy avatar of a woman, as models sashayed down the ramp displaying the abundance of skillsmanship that India possesses in its heartlands.

'Broadway’ showcased the choice of the suave, jet-setting working woman of today! Western cuts in pure handcrafted fabric… Etching her path in life, shoulder to shoulder, with her western counterpart…

This initiative was very well received and appreciated by the audience for its uniqueness and the courage to stand apart from the rest!
